Vichayuth Meenaphant & Phuttipan Aswakool have developed a design that has been awarded first runner-up in a competition to represent Thailand\u00a0for the 2010 Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy.\u00a0 The proposal, titled “Fog”, responds to the Biennale’s architecture curator, Kazuyo Sejima, and her\u00a0mission to exhibit architecture for a “post ideological society”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Thai competition was organized by ASA<\/a> (Association of Siamese Architects), and sought ideas that showed potential to create new types of spaces for social interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phuttipan & Vichayuth from Architectkidd propose a design for a public space that “brings back the equilibrium through a replica of actual space in urban areas”.  Central to the design is experimenting with blurring effects in architecture, with the aim to mitigate differences in identity, age, ethnicity and gender, and enhance social interactions and communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A full-scale mockup of the design was exhibited at Architect ’10<\/a>, the 24th ASEAN Building Technology Exposition and Trade Fair in Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
