A Thin Office Building

January 2009: Construction has been completed and staff have moved in to the new headquarters of Bewcon, a leading electrical and mechanical contractor in Thailand. The design is characterized by 2 thin parallel buildings that are connected by the main stairway.

The arrangement of the office space emerged after studying various options based on the site conditions and user’s needs and way of work.  Compared to a typically wider and deeper floorplan, we proposed this solution because it had the possibility to provide more privacy by utilizing physical distance and separation of spaces.

At the same time, the users could still maintain visual connection to the overall organization.  This is helped by the developing a high degree of transparency for the building facades.
