Retail Landscape, All Grown Up

Visiting Megapark recently, we were happy to see our architectural design for Megabangna has changed — in a good way. What was conceived as a “green scaffold” is now more fully realized, with plants growing in, softening the commercial complex and allowing the public landscape to blend into the architecture.

We found a place that has settled into itself, shaped by growth and use. The planting framework has matured into a living system, where greenery spills through the architecture.

What has emerged is not only a commercial extension of Megabagna and Ikea, but a shared public landscape – one where architecture and public space are quietly intertwined.

Since its completion, Megapark has been featured in several publications and in the media. The Design Story recently featured the design of Megapark as an example of public space design and highlighted the scarcity of public landscapes in South East Asian cities.

In addition to the landscape design by Landscape Collaboration and PED Garden, the environmental graphics and wayfinding was designed by Cookiesdynamo.
