S-OASIS: Design for Urban Life

S-OASIS is a mixed-used high-rise building development in Bangkok with approximately 53,000 square meters area of space. Architectkidd was commissioned by Singha Estate Public Company to design the interior for the 31-storey complex that consists of offices, retail and public areas.

The interior design of S-OASIS reflects the overall concept of the high-rise office tower to create a ‘whole life’ environment that can integrate work and urban living in the dynamic Chatuchak neighborhood in Bangkok.

Articulated Materials
Attention was made to detail the interior of S-OASIS with robust materials and finishes. The goal is to create a sense of depth and texture and to enhance the tactile experience given the overall building’s scale. An example of this are the vertical fins in the atrium that create a dynamic effect upon the visitor’s arrival from the street.

Visual connection is a key component of the design and this is achieved with generous ceiling heights, particularly the double-height ground floor level. The office lobby of S-OASIS establishes a prominent street presence along with the use of a minimal palette of materials that are consistently applied throughout the building.

A Space Oasis
Throughout the interior of S-OASIS, the design aims to visually expand the space and to enhance the users’ sense of spatial presence inside the building. The interior space is enhanced by linkages to other public areas within the S-OASIS complex and also opens out to the exterior to interact with the surrounding landscape design (by TROP: terrain + open space).

With the building surrounded by major roads on its sides, the interior design of S-Oasis aims to be connected throughout, enhancing visibility and presence of the high-rise in Bangkok.
